 Hello fellow Mustangs! I’m Ivy Gainey, Mountain Park’s new Assistant Principal and I’m looking forward to meeting all of you very soon. I’m originally from Charleston, South Carolina and am the mother of three year old Elyssa. I obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communications from Winthrop University, teaching certification from Brenau University, and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the State University of West Georgia. For the past 11 years I’ve been at Esther Jackson Elementary School here in Roswell, where I was the Assistant Principal for the past five years and taught 4th and 2nd grades before that. I have heard so many great things about Mountain Park’s amazing students, hard working and dedicated staff members and incredibly supportive parents . . . all the ingredients needed to make up a School of Excellence. I am very excited about this opportunity to work at Mountain Park where students obviously come first. That philosophy goes hand in hand with a quote I am known to say and live by: "Kids don't care how much you know until they know how much you care."
